Hello all --

I'm trying to find out the title and author of a story that I read when I was younger. It's about a man who learns to see without needing to use his eyes (he can use his hands as eyes, I think, and eventually can see through things too), and who uses this talent to win big at the casinos. I don't remember too much more than that, except that the story ends with him alone, standing in front of a mirror -- he can see through his skin, and is watching as a blood clot makes its way to his brain.

Any help with the title and author or suggestions as to where else to post this query would be greatly appreciated!
