Its a bit fluffy, it is very over-rated and is not as well written as other novels dealing with the same themes.

And characters who start out as hyper-intelligent turn into bumbling morons about halfway through the book...

Yeah, I knew I forgot two inter-related things: inconsistent characterizations and plot holes.

And over-use of plot coupons.

Oh and Dan Brown either gets 85% of his info wrong or purpesly lies about stuff to advance his story. His book was allright just not great and shouldnt have sold as many copies as it did.

Just so you know im not a militant ultra christian crazy. I just did some simple research on his facts after reading the book.

Ever heard of the word fiction?

Dan Brown cleary states that the book is fiction. In the book and on his website. But people get upset anyway. Dan Browns ideas dont bother me a bit. I think the Bible is a work of fiction. Both are works of fiction. But most of both books are made up. Loosly based on fact. Dan Brown wrote his book based on other peoples ideas. The bible is a hogpog of older religions that came before it. Almost everything that is in the bible can be found in almost every religion that preceded it.

I'm with the people that didn't like The Da Vinci Code. I did, however, love Angels & Demons. Oh well, go figure.

I'm in the middle of reading a few books right now, but the one I'm enjoying the most is East of Eden. Oprah was right. What surprised me the most was that it was a Christmas gift. Not many people can pick out something I like.

I know his book is fiction, but some people still think most of the Facts in it are real . Did you know that stupid americans are digging up graves in france and basically destroying historical sites looking for all the grail crap.

Sorry if my first post came off with me sounding like I think its real. I dont. But Dan Brown uses real peices of history and facts and twists them. Oh and im not upset about it at all. In fact I could care less about it and religion (im an atheist) He just twisted facts and stupid american tourists think that means all the information (not characters or story) is real.

But I agree. It was an alright read. It is a typical mystery suspense book and Dan Brown just got a lucky break with it some how. Its poorly written and predictable but he just gets you hooked in some areas. I also read Angels and Demons and I liked it better. Dan Brown has a talent for hooking you even if the book is trash. :)

thanks for all the info, I think i'm going to read it anyway, although I won't have any high expectations.

Does it matter if you're not extremely familiar with biblical events past what they teach you at school?
