The Da Vinci Code is sooo much better than Angels and Demons. Angels and Demons started off okay but soon got so silly I nearly put it down. The amount of twists at the end where behind believe and not in a good way.

As for the scene with the helicopter.... :(

To answer monty_mike, no not really. There is quite a fair amount of exposition in the book and you don't really have to have any knowledge on the subject at all. I came onto the book by acident and without knowing what it was really about started reading then it turned out I knew all about it as I'd read a number of books on the subject before (maybe thats why I enjoyed it more that Angels and Demons?), But for it to have been the worldwide best seller that it is... no you don't need to have any knowledge of bibical events.

I would buy the new illustrated addition of da Vinci code that just came out.

Are you sure it is just stupid americans that are digging up graves? I am sure the book came out in canada too. So there have to be some stupid canadians over there also. And maybe some english people as well.
Besides that, I think people have been searching for the Grail for a lot longer then there have been "stupid americans".

I know his book is fiction, but some people still think most of the Facts in it are real . Did you know that stupid americans are digging up graves in france and basically destroying historical sites looking for all the grail crap.

I know we are not the Poster Boys for World Peace right now, but come on! "Stupid" Americans? That's a bit of a generalization don't ya think?

Davinci Code is not a good book, try Foucault's Pendulum, I hear that is filled with conspiracy theories and the occult on a much deeper level.

Oh yeah, Jain, how is the hockey season treating ya?

junior hockeys going pretty good. Ive been too 6 games so far this year. And watched about 20 on t.v (not including the world juniors). Oh and when I said stupid americans I meant that the ones who were doing it were stupid (not all americans).

oh and I think Ill try that book you mentioned.

also in response to the kiss guy... I was meaning that people were reading the book and then going to france to dig crap up. None of them are grail Historians.

oh and id like to apologize to everyone for starting a mini flame wars type thing. That wasnt my intention. I was merely trying to inform people that some of the real events that dan brown alludes to have been seriously twisted to make parts of his book work. Once again I apologize.

I think I'll read the Da Vinci Code more for the sake of being able to say 'Yeh, I've read it', than actually wanting to for enjoyment.... It may not be a great book but a lot of people are reading it.

Here's my question: Should I buy it or library it? (i'm not strapped for cash or anything)........ I think I'll buy it.....

No need to aplogize Jain, at all. The drawback of forums is tone. I really wasn't offended or angry at your post. I was trying to be scarcastic and self-deprecating at the same time. I obviously didn't do a good job - I apologize...

Oh and the hockey thing was loaded with sarcasm since there is no NHL season I figured all Canadians didn't know what to do with themselves.
Now THAT was a generalization! :D

yeah lol. Its a good thing the AHL is televised and they show swedish elite league games or Canada might build a super weapon in all the spare time we have. :)
