Hi all,
Our January book is The Magicians by Lev Grossman. Hope lots of people show up to discuss that one.
It's time to select our February book. That process starts with nominations and seconds. Remember, anyone can make one nomination and one second. Books need to be available new in the US and UK markets. Books need to be standalone or first in a series. They also can't have been selected for the book club in the past.
I'll start off by nominating the newly republished Wild Cards I, edited by GRRM.

Since this has over a hundred views and no responses yet, I'll throw it out into the general fantasy forum for a while and see if anyone has anything to say.
Maybe everyone is just okay with Wild Cards, which is fine by me.

Probably not long enough to attract much interest for a BOTM read, but I will toss it out anyway..
I Am Legend by Richard Matheson.

The Spirit Thief by Rachel Aaron
Three books are currently out in the Legend of Eli Monpress series, first one was reviewed here.

I Am Legend by Richard Matheson.
Did it a few years back in the SF book club, so it's not eligible any more. Feel free to drop some thoughts into that thread, though.

I'm going to make an executive decision here since no one else has responded. There have been a few people on the forum talking about reading Wild Cards lately, so let's make that a February BOTM and then transform this thread into the March Nominations and see if that gets a few more bites.

Somehow this is the first time I've seen this thread.
The Lost Gate by Orson Scott Card was just released... It's a fantasy novel. I guess I'll make that my suggestion.

I knew I left one critical bit out of the stipulations...for money concerns, they should also be available in paperback.

Hiya Erfael
I'd like to get in on the fun. Is there a place I can see a list of all the previous Book of the Month choices?
I've been hankering to try Mythago Wood by Robert Holdstock. I understand it's considered a minor classic, so I'll nominate that.
Reserve the right to second someone else's suggestion, though.
Thanks!

Sure. The list of previous discussions is here: http://www.sffworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5560
I haven't put 2010 in there yet, but they should all be in the first page of the Book Club forum.
I haven't read Mythago Wood in a few years, but it was a favorite when I did, so I'll second that.
