I played a demo of this a while back and it looked OK, although I couldn't get very far in it.
Is it worth picing up?

i bought the game cause i loved fallout and fallout 2, but i never really got into it. i really liked the setting and will probably give it another try cause i've heard people say good things about it. if you haven't played either of the fallout's i'd recommend those before arcanum.

Well, I've played Arcanum with a thief, specialised in backstabbing and stealing things and excluding the graphic engine I think the game is quite good...

I got sucked into this game last December at my parents' house over Christmas (very very very good) and just (Sunday) bought my own copy. The variety is good. I haven't played many games since... oh, the second Monkey Island (that was a long time ago), so I really enjoyed the ability to work on more than one quest.

I've been a teacher and someone who ran away to join the circus. Both were enjoyable. The game takes a good long time to play (I put something like 2 weeks into one character and still have much of the quest to complete). Good mix of adventure, fighting, and problem solving. There are many ways to solve different quests--which I really, really like.

Planning on installing my software this afternoon--after I finish my homework, like a good girl ;)
