Hi everyone,
I need your knowledge about SF literature (if you agree).
I am wondering what are different forms the book takes in science fiction books.
What is its aspect? Can its form evolves (getting bigger, ...)? What is its use (work, entertainment, private dairy)? Is it cross-media (can it play video, display pictures, sounds, smell)? Is it still physic or entirely virtual?
Give we if you can every detail you have and the reference of the book quoted, so I could find it.
I'm asking you because I can't read every science fiction book to find it out. And it isn't restrained to books only : comics, films,... interest me too.

One take on science-fiction books is in The Diamond Age. If I remember correctly, the book incorporates bits overheard of the reader's life in the process of telling the tale. Obviously the pages aren't ink, but I am not sure what specifically they are made of.
