About 45 or 50 Years ago I Started to read a book about a person that (I think he was hunting) was hit by what he thought was a stray pellet from a bird hunter. When he got home the wound had already started to heal up.
He later learned that it was a space craft of some sort and he now has a bunch of intelligent beings inside his body and they are repairing every thing that is wrong with him. He then goes out on the town and has a few drinks . The next morning he no longer can communicate with the ones inside his body.
To make a long story shorter I have no idea who wrote the book or what the name of it was and would like very much to know what the name of the book or story is. I hate to quit a book once I have started it and I liked this one. Please help.

"Inside John Barth" by William W. Stuart starts out the same... a man is hunting and thinks he's shot by another hunter. It turns out that he was hit by tiny spaceships rather than buckshot, and the aliens from the ships colonize him.
