Hope I'm not stepping on toes, but on of the most interesting threads seems absent this month!

For me, I'm travelling to my parents' for the week and am taking

The stars my destination - alfred bester
stardust - neil gaiman
Gotm - steven erikson
A wild sheep chase - haruki murakami
south of the border west of the sun - haruki murakami.

any thoughts on these? also what's everyone else reading.

I don't usually plan ahead but I should be reading this month the following.

Sword of Truth-Terry Goodkind. I've heard mixed reports of this, so I'm half planning to read it just so I can have some prepective in the inevitable endless bickering. Plus its been sitting on my shelf for ages.

After that the first two books in Sara Douglass' Crucible trilogy which have been on my shelf probably even longer. Either that or Julian May's Rampart Worlds trilogy which have also been on the shelf for ages.

First I'll have to finish off Michael Moorcock's Nomad of the Timestream.

I'll be reading Tad William's Sea of Silver Light for the next week or so. Then I'll take a break from the heavy reading and read some fluff fantasy...then move on to David Gemmell's Drenai series. That should probably keep me busy for May.

I'm almost done with Perdido Street Station and then it's on to Gardens of the Moon . I live in the US, and had to order it from Canada.

Murakami has been recommended to me by a friend too, so I'm looking out for that one!

Reading now: GG Kay's "Fionavar Tapestry" trilogy, J.V. Jones' "Book of Words" trilogy (good story but sloppy writing, not half as decent as "A Cavern of Black Ice"), "Other Stories & Other Stories" by Ali Smith and am dying to get started on John Marco's "Jackal of Nar"

The two last books in the Farseer trilogy. Modessit Recluse sage and i'll probably start Marco.

Assassin's Quest by Robin Hobb then I'll either get into The Liveship Traders by Hobb or a Game of Thrones by Martin.

I found a copy of Hobb's Fool's Errand at the local library, as well as a copy of the Lion's of Al-rassan. That's all for fantasy thus far.

But I have about eight Robert Parker novels to read, which is a good thing, because I like parker.

Just finished Well of Darkness by the dynamic duo, Weis and Hickman. It is the first book in the Sovereign Stone trilogy.

I usually pick up books by Weis & Hickman for a light, up-beat sort of fantasy read. This is quite different than anything I've read by them. It was dark, depressing and full of characters I couldn't stand. More like GRRM's books! It could be starting out like Hobb's Liveship books where the first couple of books were dark, but the mood lightened up towards the end of the series. I have the second book in the series sitting next to me now, just begging to be read!
