A few close friends of mine love fantasy more than I do, one is that type of friend who can just remember books and characters like he was a walking search engine!!!
What I find strange, is that they have absolutely no inkling to try and write their own stories and when I ask them I'll get an answer along the lines of...'Why would I want to? I'm happy just reading and enjoying them thanks.'
And that is perfectly fine, one can fight better than me, one can surf better than most people and one is faaaaaaaaar more intelligent than I ever will be.
I just wondered if any of you guys out there who frequent this forum have absolutely no intention of writing. Have any of you thought you would like to have a go but haven't got round to it?
**MODS**
I know this should go in the Writing Forum but the people I am asking probably don't read the writing forum because, well... They don't write (yet).

I love reading and writing! Books I wrote, Dorf's Quest, Dorf's Quest 2: Skelton's Revenge, Dorf's Quest 3:Quest for the Golden Gauntlet, Dorf's Quest 4: Power of the Golden Gauntlet, and a prelude to Dorf's Quest called Spirits of Ambrigon. :)

I admit it - I don't write - I have no intention of writing - I have absolutely no inclination to write anything of my own.
I don't have an imagination of my own :D and I always HATED essay writing in school. (I think it has to do with my more science/maths based brain - that could start some debate ;) ).
Anyway - I much prefer to read other people's stories and engross myself in their world which I tend to make my own in short order. Couldn't think of doing it myself though......wouldn't know where to start.

I would love to write. But I have problems. I think of so many ideas at a time that I don't have time to write them all down. They are very good and by the time I can write them down, I have forgotten them. And if I do get a good story started I can never finish it, because my mind has so many ideas that it wants to start a new story before it is done with the other one. If I could find a job where ideas counted, I would be perfect, but I guess writing isn't for me. I would love to do it, if I could get control of my brain.

Two things to say:
1. You need some ritalin.
2. I'll be happy to steal your ideas and I shall reward you by telling the world they were mine.

I'm in the same boat as e-morgana. I have NEVER been able to write fiction. I just can't ever come up with anything resembling a reasonable plot. I'd rather write a dissertation than a short story any day!
Enjoying an art form (such as reading, music or art) doesn't mean that a person can or even wants to do it.

I used to write poetry when I was a lad , my mother thought it(my poetry) was really good , she was the only one:(
I simply wouldn't have time to write if I could !

Yeah Nevyn, I write poetry too. It is one thing that I can do. I'm actually pretty interested in it. Would you mind if I read some of yours?
