Searching

When i get recomended a book or an Author i usually search for them here to find out a bit about them, but i have found that the minimum word length on search is 4 letters which means i can't search for some authors. Is there any possibility this could be shortened to 3 letters?
Thanks,
Nac

I think you can use the keyword search for any word, if that's what you mean? Can you be more specific in describing the problem you are having and I'll see if I, or someone else can shed some light on it. :)

When i use keyword search and i put in a 3 letter word (or a group of words containing a 3 letter word) it tells me my word is under the minimum search length(4).

Its not a big problem though and i can usually get around it.

Ah. Yes, the forum software is currently configured to a 4 letter minimum for searching to lessen the instances of standard words etc. from the database, which could obviously become quite large the smaller the letter count. I will pass your query on to Dag, the site owner, to see if a 3 letter minimum is possible.

Sorry to say that I won't be changing the number although I perfectly understand that it would have been nice. Have run into the same problem myself from time to time.

The thing is that there are some performance issues involved in doing such a thing as well as the additional diskspace it would require, and at the moment that wouldn't be a good idea.

Sorry about this
Dag
