Hi sffans,
You'd think google would be able to find a scifi short story from the '60's/'70's... but no. Perhaps you are taking up valuable memory space with this information?
Somewhere in my crates of scifi books is a short story about an expert tailor (one who makes clothes) who has fallen on hard times. The gov. asks him to make clothes for a horse-like alien ambassador. He does a good job and gets declared "interstellar tailor" on his brand new space-glass window.
Ok, maybe I'm mad for wanting to read this one again. But it just occurred to me (30 years later) that it is a nice parable about dignity. You know how you suddenly realize that the shoot-em-up space-yarn you just read has a deeper message? That sort of thing...
Cheers.
