I like how the article asks Hollywood to make something original ... by adapting a book.

Gee, how about a decent adaptation of I, Robot instead of that In Name Only crap starring Will Smith?

decent adaptation
Isn't that an oxymoron?

Blade Runner.
Nah, just kidding. There are a few things I prefer the movie of to the book (A Space Odyssey, Planet of the Apes, The Lord of the Rings) but the fanboys are never going to agree.
That aside, I'm surprised nobody's ever thought of doing a movie of Ender's Game. Also, Neuromancer is supposedly in production but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I'm sure I've heard rumours that it's sadly in the works, but I could be wrong.

I just looked it up and apparently Scott Card is writing the script himself, so it might not be too terrible.

I think Snow Crash, Altered Carbon and Hyperion should be a lot higher on the list, but other than that it's not a bad list. One other spot I differ from the list is that I have no desire to see Foundation.

A lot of good books are just too long and too detailed to be good movies.
The movie Dune was lousy if you hadn't read the book and it wasn't good if you read the book.
But as a mini-series it was great.
Mote in God's Eye could be a great mini-series.
