Not brown-nosing as such, but I must say I am intrigued to read the work of people I get to chat to on this fine forum...
After reading it, I will be honest in praise at the incredible, gripping and mind-blowing work by one of the finest mods at this (in the world) forum...:D

I am waiting for the next book in the 'Tawny Man' series Golden Fool... along with the next 'Dark Tower' books from Stephen King.. I seem to have spent the last 15 years doing that! :D

Ooh I have the first Dark Tower book in my 'To Do' pile.
I started reading the Hobbit again yesterday and am almost finished... What a great book.
Someone once told me that I would enjoy the Dark Tower series because I enjoyed/loved the Gemmell Jon Shannow series, is that a fair assumption?

/pricks up ears/
someone once told me the book that the film Payback (starring Mel Gibson) is based on is Shannowish, or something to that effect. I think it was that the main character is kind of like Shannow, but presumably less good.

Hmmm. Maybe it was the fact Mel's character, whilst the hero and focus of the movie, did many things that are considered evil, hitting women, murder, theft and so on.
Shannow is one of those Grey characters everyone seems to love on this forum who walks a fine line slipping to the evil side every now and then.
I love the Sipstrassi Tales (SP?) a really good mix of Gunslinger and Fantasy World...
Now Waylander is even more of a dark hero, just my cup-of-tea.
Gemmell writes this kind of character extremely well and I must say I am a little upset that many feel he is a soap-opera fantasy author. His battle scenes and peeks into the souls of men and what makes us tick has changed my outlook on life and hit home really that... Well, read my Quote thread in the writing forum, that says it all and how I feel...
