I am looking for two books and i will try to rmember as much of them as i can.

The first book: I think the name of the main character is Hero. The front cover if i remember right had a guy in a boat rowing through a city possibly submerged. other parts i remember was so race was attacking towns and villages long a coast line. Possibly reptilion. They were using submarines. i believe that this was a book set in a timeline after a nuclear war.

Second Book: Front cover has a guy on a hill top or ridge in futurasitc car looking over a valley (?) with a city possibly being over run by volcanoes. I remember that the heros had to make it to antarctica or the north pole. There was some type of excavation and (?) parasites or worms were infesting people. Time line was i think way in the future.

any help would greatly apped.

thanks for looking

The first bears a certain resemblance to John Wyndham's 'The Kraken Wakes'. The second, alas, is not familiar at all to me.

Checked this one out and dosnt seem to fit. The American version of the book is called out of the deeps. What ime talking about apacolyps is like in the Shanara series. That series is based after a nuclear war by many years. I think the description of the first book is like that. thanks though.

Could the first book be one of Sterling Lanier's 'Hiero' novels? There is Hiero's Journey (http://www.amazon.com/Hieros-Journey-Sterling-Lanier/dp/0345308417) and its sequel The Unforsaken Hiero (http://www.amazon.com/Unforsaken-Hiero-Sterling-Lanier/dp/0345302281/ref=pd_sim_b_1). Good novels, which unfortunately there wasn't a third book to complete the series.
