Just thought this forum might be of interest to any that are deep in to "Lord of the Rings"

The discussions are lengthy and detailed but interesting.Lord of the Rings forum. (http://forums.swordforum.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=70)

Well, I am fan of WoT, but doesn't prevent me speaking on LotR! :) "LotR" is quite good book, but can't compare with modern fantasy books as WoT of RJ, Bel/Mal and El/Tam of Eddings, and RS/SS by Feist.

Nonsense. LoTR is far superior to the books mentioned by Elan.

Even a comparison seems unfair. Eddings, Brooks, Jordan, rip-off artists!!!, Hacks!

I can tell ya joking cause for one Eddings books arn't ripoffs of LotR and well as far as I know you still have not finished EotW. Still your joke is pretty lame:p .

The forum linked to appears to be pretty good. Mostly the kinds of discussions I participated in in my youth (not so long ago)--Elvish scripts and alphabets, genealogical trivia from the Silmarillion, debating fine points from Tolkien's letters, etc. Fun stuff if you're really into Tolkien's books.

For the record, I agree with Mithfanion.

For the record I disagree :D

For the record, I love the LOTR, and think it is amazing. I also think comparing is kind of a waste of time. Love what you love.

Also for the record, though I am a HUGE LOTR fan (9 reads and counting), I cant imagine wanting to spend valuable time debating fine points of elven genealogy or language. If other people do so, that is cool with me, but there are limits...

Okay... stop now... this is NOT an Eddings bashing topic, nor a topic to put RJ on a pedastal.

Thank you :D

Hobrook... nice link.. I had a good laugh at the poster for 'The Hobbit' movie....:D
