I think you guys have a 100% track record when the lost and confused post a 'help, I can't remember the name of that book...'
thread.

So, I thought I would have a go because I read a great book but can't for the life of me remember what it was called.

The book starts in our time, with a team of archeologists who are excavating the remains of a castle. The team have some kind of quantum time device. The team travel back in time and within a few minutes, a knight rides up and decapitates one of the tough guys (well it was a tough girl actually).

Any ideas?

I believe you are talking about Timeline by Michael Crichton.

Thank you very much, Fenn628

I enjoyed it more than most Crichtons. Crichton has a way of making the fantastical elements of his stories seem possible. Am looking forward to the movie that is currently in production. Hopefully they will not screw it up.

MOVIE!!!!!!!!? Ah Quality...

So do I (hope they don't ruin it)... Do you think Fantasy fans would enjoy that book? I like the way it chucks modern people back into a sword wielding era...

As for storyline, sure, I think it would appeal to fantasy fans. I am not sure I would necessarily recommend it because it is not your typical fantasy fare, but I think those that gave it a chance would enjoy it.

Actually Juzza, it might be 100% for you, but I posted a "HELP" thread under Sci-Fi, and so far no one has got it.

I am not in any way blaming anyone. I just keep hoping someone will catch it. Ironically, that is the reason I found this forum in the first place.

Still, I am happy for you. Enjoy!
