Long time lurker first time posted. I'm having a devil of a time finding books (sci fi or fantasy) that are like the movie district 9. Liked the movie, wanted the ideas in it to be explored a lot more. What I am looking for:
1. Protagonist / main character becomes something non-human permanently.
2. The non-humans aren't super humans (like most super hero/villain, vampire, werewolf stuff).
3. The protagonist has the deal with the significant philosophical and cultural issues involved with their change.
4. The protagonist in some way becomes accustomed to and integrated into the non-human culture and society.
5. Not looking for something like The Metamorphosis or Twilight.
Please I would love to hear some of your suggestions. :o
