I saw the new date is now January.

Funny, I recall some comments bashing Martin after the delay set in, made by fans of a certain author... :)

No! No! You lie, evil miscreant!:D

All joking aside, I'm not sure that info is correct. The manager at my local Waldenbooks went to a store manager's conference a couple of weeks ago and they confirmed the delivery and release date for CoT as November 12th. Let's hope they are right!

Yes there will be a delay until January, straight from Jordan's mouth. Check out www.wotmania.com

But still the release on amazon.co.uk and Orbit is 7. Nov. So we English readers in Europe can still hope.

No amazon is wrong. Jordan said he will not finish the manuscript in time to get it published in November. He is also giving himself more time to review it with his editor.

FF shakes head for getting too involvoed in WOT discussion :(

We've been here before, folks, haven't we?....unrealistic deadlines set by publishers before the book is even written.

I am tempted to sympathise with all those waiting (only tempted... :) ) but it seems that unfortunately you'll just have to join the queue - I think Harry Potter fans get there first.

Must admit though - slagging the author off for not getting the proposed date right is a bit off. I would have thought that it was more important to get the book right, right?

Still, it might mean that when it does come out Allanon more people will buy it - there'll be all those post Christmas gift vouchers to get rid of! :)

Irritating as people find it to wait for a book they REALLy want to read (Feast for Crows springs to mind :)), i agree with Hobbit that most important, in the long term, is that the author takes the time to get the book right.

*feels smug about only being on Dragon Reborn, and not having any waiting to do wrt THIS series* :)

Sammie, do you get any sleep? :D

Dragon reborn - that's book 3, so only another 7+ to go....

That'll still leave you the last two (or three or four, not written yet!) to wait for... :p

Hey, what's another 2 months when we've been waiting 2 years already. Besides it give more time to re-read the other ones ;)
