He's the greatest. I think Freud would have loved to have analyzed some of his books. My favorite character is Lazarus Long, of course. Time Enough For Love is one of my favorite books of all times. Some touchy themes in there.
I wonder what other fans favorite Heinlein books are?

I like Heinlein too. I think my fav book written by him is Citizen of the Galaxy, but I'm also really partial to Time Enough for Love and I Will Fear No Evil.

Favorite Heinlein book EVER has got to be Stranger in a Strange Land. I mean it, like so many of his books, was such a concise commentary on human nature. But in this case it was FUNNY. How many sci-fi books can you say that about?

The Heinlein book aia enjoyed most is probably "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress." Classic sci-fi, and I liked the politics in it.

Ahhh yes... I remember this... the golden age of Science Fiction, look at any Sci Fi section in a book store now, and there is a hell of a lot of Star Trek, X-Files and Phantom Menace, all good books... but this is Classic Sci Fi.
Time Enough For Love and Stranger In A Strange Land my 2 faves

Yup, got to agree with Shadowfire, Starship Troopers. So much social commentary there, maybe the world leaders should read it, a tiny touch of the facism in the story would go a long way in this PC world we live in.

Stranger in a Strange Land
Moon is a Harsh Mistress were both great.

Starship Troopers was a *great* book, the movie sucked ass, nothing to do with the book ("Doogie Hauser, M.D. in spaaaaaaaccceeee!") The concepts and theme of ST are still worth thinking about today.
I have just ordered "Orphans In The Sky", which should be an interesting read. Apparently, it was the basis for the long out of print and somewhat ground breaking sci-fi game by TSR titled "Metamorphosis Alpha". A colony ship (generation) breaks down, the crew dies or riots, and several generations later, the survivors are in a tribal state, worshiping non-functioning robots as 'gods', etc.
Interesting, like a 'Lord of the Flies' in space. I look forward to the read.
(sorry, mis-spelled a big word in a big way)
