I think that I read this book in the 1960's. As an experiment a number of communities were set up where the children were especially bright and they would have access to the best brains in the world but not the political and religious dogma. Children developed science to a point where they threatened the established authorities and most sites were wiped out. One group survived by shifting their location in time and were therefore not vulnerable to attack. The story is told by a journalist who is the brother of one of the adult carers in the Canadian location. Hope you can help with this.
