Can't Recall Book Title. Help!

Back in the early 90's I read a series of sword & sorcerer novels. I recall the covers always had a picture of the main character, a knight in all black armor usually sitting on his horse. His helmet had one horn and he usually carried a large axe. I want to say that 'death' was in the title, but I can't be sure. The main character may have been dead himself, but he traveled around and did things. I wish I could recall the series or even the author but I'm at a lost. Can anyone out there help me?

I believe your thinking of the death dealer novels by James Silke
It was a series of 4 books.

1. PRSONER OF THE HORNED HELMET
2. TOOTH AND CLAW
3. PLAGE OF KNIVES
4.LOARDS OF DESTRUCTION

I enjoyed these books very much, its not your typical high fantasy(Tolkien,Jorda etc...), but more along the lines of adventure fantasy, like conan books are.

Unfortunately the books are out of print. Try used book stores, or online auction sites. I know that most first printings of the mass market soft covers, are going for anywhere from $10.00 to $40.00 a piece, depending on the condition.

Check out my avatar...I am the Death Dealer...LOL

I hope this helps.

Hey AW, is it true that James Silke was writing about a character created by Frank Franzetta? I remember seeing the cover of one of the books and noticed it had the title 'Frank Franzetta's Death-Dealer'.

The James Silke books were inspired by the "Death-Dealer" by Frank Frazetta. For some reason, back in the ancient times when album cover art was actually art, Molly Hatchett always had the Death-Dealer on their covers. Don't know if you can find those albums now, but "The Deed is Done" is pretty awesome just to look at.

A lot of the Dragon Lance novels can fit that description. Need a bit more information than that to decide if it is a Dragon Lance novel. Who is standing or sitting near the person in question. What is around this person?

Dragon Lance has a group of characters called the Knights of Takhisis, which is made up of millions of knights, most of whom could fit this description.
