I must have read this in the mid-80s, but it may have been much older than that.
A couple has purchased a new TV that comes with special broadcasting... an almost unlimited variety of unbelievably real soaplike programs. They realize that the TV shows what is going on the homes of other owners of the same brand when their sets are off, unbeknownst to them. ie they have a hidden camera inside. They wind up making some sort of deal with the manufacturer to keep it a secret.
