Apologies for misunderstanding

Isn't it a bit unnerving to find a published author that knows not the difference between 'they're' and 'their'?

I had a couple of books of his on my shelf but I think I'll get rid now to be honest.

Sorry if this seems a bit provocative, but I see no reason to close my previous thread because all I did was comment on the fact that a well established author had a bad grasp of the English language.

Isn't that as valid as an opinion on how good David Eddings is?

your thread regarding Tracy Hickmans poor grammar is NOT closed. Only the original post with its specific mention of the unmentionalbe was closed.

Juzza questioned the validity of the other thread, he did not close it.

And I will now go and post there :)

I had a couple of books of his on my shelf but I think I'll get rid now to be honest Not to excuse the error in question, but dont you think that might be a bit of an overreaction?

It might have been the fault of those who published his comments, or maybe he was in a hurry. 'To err is human, to forgive divine.'

Besides Hickman has does some decent work. Why would one grammatical error in a noon-related field lessen your enjoyment of that work?

I misunderstood Juzzza and offer my apologies. I guess I'm a bit hot-headed sometimes. My last day at work and feelin a bit odd...

Anyway, has anyone seen the new cover art for Song of Ice and Fire in the UK? I'm tempted to buy another copy.

I guess he seems a bit goody goody in the other post, but you are right, Someguy... I don't even have the luxury of knowing anything about some of the people I read, especially since I doubt they are all grammar gods anyway. I'm sure their editors and proof readers have a lot of input :o);)

Horribleman-
you don't have to open a new topic everytime you want to respond to other topics. Yes of course your opinion matters. Unless of course, you disagree with me. ;)
