Not sure if you're refering to the crazed bloodlust expression or the make-up there!

LOL! True!
I remember a Muay Thai champion who would enter the ring made up like a lady-boy before the fight and blow his opponents kisses during the intro, before having his make-up wiped off and then beating his opponent senseless!

You gotta love how unlike most martial arts there's no enlightened way of life aspect to Muay Thai, you're just trying to be as devastating as possible.

well, it's more of a national sport to them like football etc. So the spiritual side get's overshadowed somewhat by the "beat the Hell out of your opponent" philosophy.

yeah :) that's what I was referring to. Can't see myself getting into it though (although in fighting games I'm usually drawn to the Muay Thai dudes, go figure)

Lol... Very observant of you my friend. I studied some goju ryu, but didn't like it and so moved in the okinawan arts, whiched used less deeped stances and deep breathing... but part of our system was two partially altered goju katas.... sanchin and seuchin (sp?). Our Grand Master was chojan Miyagis favourite student. :D
