Hi everyone,
I'm new in this forum.
I'm a Stephen Donaldson fan, and a servant of the Land at Kevin's watch forum.
Someone in our forum posted an interesting article:

Donaldson describes such a device in his Gap series, and calls it Zone implants.
I haven't read that much SF, and I'm curious: are zone implants SRD's invention or is it a common device in SF?

Zone implants... Sounds like a Wirehead rat. Larry Niven used these concepts significantly in his Known Space series, including the Ringworld Trilogy.

I'm sure he wasn't the first one to come up with the idea. Just don't know who was, and am not sure anyone could say with any accuracy. It's got to be an old idea. Just now becoming technologically feasable.
