Ive have full Narnia chronicles, some David Gemmell, full Amber spyglass triology and American Gods (Neil Gaiman) all on unabridged audio.
I am just wondering if anyone else has listened to any other good fantasy on unabridged audio? Any titles would be useful as then at least I would know that they exist on audio, therefore I can probably search and find them myself.
Any help appreciated. I already have lots of audio book sites, but am not sure which good fantasy has ever been published on audio/or not.
Thanks ...

I have Lord of the Rings, which I believe is unabriged. Not a bad copy either. I've got it for my vacation trip since I get sick reading in the car, listening was much more convenient.

Harry Potter is available, for sure.
So are most of the Discworld novels. Nice, actually, cos they're read by whatisname....Tony Robinson....(Baldric, in 'Blackadder')

"I have a cunning plan" hehe
Thanks so far, yes the BBC so a great full cast unabridged audio presentation of the whole of LOTR - great for while you wait for the movies :)
The Potter books - i never read them, ... but i may give the audio's a go. I see them on ebay often. Discworld i have seen too, infact i saw a cartoon movie of discworld (soul music) which i never knew existed - that was kinda fun.
I just wish there was more choice - there are sooo many detective and other audio books these days, and fantasy is just getting left behind . And no one can say fantasy is not literature with the likes of George RR Martin on he scene :)

Take a look at Booksontape.com (I think). They have a lot of unabridged, including Jorden and Goodkind among many others. You can also get Anne Mcaffrey (most everything she has done) from Audiobooks I think. There is some Terry Brooks out there also (newer titles) though I can't remember by what company.

I think this is a great way of introducing people to the genre. Lots of people hate to read the 500-page books , and especially people with dyslexia could benefit from this type of 'reading'.
I'd love to have Eddings in audio..

It is a very very good way in my opinion. Infact its one of the best hobby decisions ever to listen to un-abridged fantasy (and any other genre). Also there is a MASSIVE increase to availability (been researching). Especially with well set out charity groups specialising in these audio books for those with sight problems.
I must add again, I rememebr the audio book that i have read far far more easily, and to a better depth than anything i actually read. The characters really come to life.
So far ive found and purchased David Gemmel, Salvador, Koontz, Philip Pullman, Clive Barker, More Gaiman, Iain Banks, Stephen King - but only unabridged Jordan though. Was very impessed with the Gemmell ones I listened too! great voices. But all of them are addictive!
Best site so far is probably www.audible.com - and there is a free site too - but with older books.
Imagine - all your time walking around, washing up, ironing, doing housework while listening to audio books :)

It is a great way to enjoy a book, although it can't replace the book for me, you have to read it, and listen to it. Two slightly different experiences in my opinion.
I have the entire WoT series of tape and let me tell you, I enjoy my commute these days! I have read all books at least twice and have 'listened' to them all another 3 times. It takes about 7 months of commutes to get through them all.
There are also a number of others available unabridged, and the unabridged Lord of the Rings is another that I have enjoyed.
