Legend of the five rings

Anyone have any thoughts on the Legend of the Five Rings saga?

I have the first six book series, but haven't read any of them yet. The storyline in the card game was pretty good, so I'm hoping the books live up to their potential.

Stephen D. Sullivan is one of the only writers out there I can't get around thinking is BAD BAD BAD, which is unfortunate, because they let him write more of the books than anyone else...

The ones by Ree Soesbee, however, are quite good. I give a total thumbs up to The Dragon, it's one of the best serial fantasy light reads I've come across.
