All day long I'd biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man.
I wouldn't have to work hard.
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
If I were a biddy biddy rich,
Yidle-diddle-didle-didle man.

So... If you had a large supply of money, what ever you feel you need(1 Million Dollars(pointing to lips with pinkey) 'Limitless' like Mr. Gates, Enough to pay for petro this weekend) What would you do with it?

Would you satisfy personal desires? Join the Jet Set and zip off to Monaco for Martinis, then over to Martini for a Rum and Coke? Give it all to one of those third world nations with a population of 50 thousand, and a single grain silo half full to feed the people for the rest of the season? Build a monument to celebrate your own greatness? Buy your mom a new washer and dryer and your dad a Cadilac?

So you have a bunch of money, and all of it is discretionary... What are you to do?

Now this is a fun topic....and the title made me laugh. I love Fiddler on the Roof!

If I had a whole bunch of money, I guess these are some of the things I would do with it:
--first and foremost, pay off all debts!
--buy houses and cars for everyone in my family
--buy myself a new car (right now I'm driving an '89 Celebrity which is falling apart at the seams)--I'd like one of those hybrid cars that use half-electricity half-gasoline
--build for myself (and husband and daughter) a beautiful big log house in the Rockies somewhere, on a big chunk of land far from civilizaton. Included will be an awesome home theatre system and the best DVD collection known to man
--build a giant library in my house and fill it floor-to-ceiling with all the books I've ever wanted to read
--for fun, get some horses and/or dirtbikes
--once I'm settled into my new house, travel the world! I want to see all of it.
--Then I'd save enough to live off of comfortably (but not extravagantly) and give the rest to charity; probably I'd focus on environmental charities

What I wouldn't do with the money is spend it on clothes, makeup, or plastic surgery.

Thanks for giving me a chance to dwell on my fantasies, Lifino. What about you? What would you do with limitless cash?

I would give a nice substantial sum to each of of my four children.
I would buy piles of books, DVD's, and CD's.
I would pay off the house.
I would travel with my hubby to a few places we've talked about visiting.
I would donate a goodly sum to Mennonite Disaster Aid. (as I am a Mennonite)
If there was anything left, I would buy a few frivolous luxuries with it.....(very un-Mennonite, but honest!)

I'd put a million in the bank, so I'd be comfortable for the rest of my life and then I'd give the rest to charities to try and help sort this world out. This done I'd wander the earth like Julius from Pulp Fiction.

Is a million really enough to be comfortable for the rest of your life? After all, Kater, you're still so young......

See when you put it in the bank it gathers interest, in a relatively high savings account you can get up to 8% interest which is 8,000 pounds/dollars whatever, now this will steadily accumulate each and every year giving you an average income without touching the million - obviously ten million would be nice but I figure the world needs it more than me.

Invest your million in the stock market, Kater, you will (normally - not necessarily atm!!) live even MORE comfortably off the interest :)

Sort my family out.

Sort my choice friends out.

Buy Norwich City.

Sort myself out.

Why? I can lose money there far too easy, the stats don't lie - if I leave it in the bank or stick it in long term bonds then the money will be quite sufficient thanks.

Solaar if you sort yourself out before you buy Norwich City m8, then you'll be doing them the right way around ;)

I think i just realised one reason Elda doesn't think 1 million is enough.........she's in the US (no?)......isn't $1000,000 only about £600,000? I'm not saying i'd say NO, but at the same time it's not QUITE enough to invest and live off.

It's like, they do that 'who wants to be a millionaire' show thing in South Africa, too (only with a guy with a nasty SA accent, instead of Chris Tarrant).........and it's ''who wants to win a million Rand". There's about ELEVEN rand to the pound (or that's what it was when i went to africa). 1 million rand is like, 3 questions in, on our version of the gameshow :)

Sammie
wonders if they do that show in Italy!
