Do you know of a web site that will

e-mail me when any author on a list of my favorite authors publishes a new hardback or softback book? I am tired of walking into a book shop one week-end and finding that one of my favorite authors has a new book that I did not know about. I want to have this information in advance.

You can sign up for Amazon alerts, though I'm not sure if you can actually specify an author, or just a genre. Worth you stopping by their site to look though. Other than that, you can search specific author sites and see if they have mailing lists or newsletters to subscribe to.

Merry Christmas! :)

Very interesting. I just kinda trawl official authors boards - but that takes ages. And many are not updated.

I do not know how updated this site is kept www.fantasticfiction.com
But its full of book info -

You are onto somethig though. An alphabetical by author list of releases and update newsletter once a week/month.
That would be fantastic! *dreams*

Thanks for fantasicfiction.com, the web site appears to have the information that I am looking for. No offence intended about Amazon, I am having a bit of trouble finding their tools on their web site.

Amazon will email alerts on specific authors. If you scroll down the opening page there should be a box on the left hand side titled Special Features. There will be an alert link there which will take you to a form to sign up. Every once in a while something will get by the computer, but I feel like I get notified most of the time. Hope this helps.
