Collection of short stories...

Lately I've written a bunch of small stories. Initially I was going to tie them all together into a novel.

But now I'm not so sure. They fit together plotwise, perhaps not even stylistically. Hech, I'm not sure they're set in the same universe.

For an author, I'm pretty clueless, huh?

What I was wondering was: do you think I could just write them up as short stories, find a common thread, and compile them into a collection of short stories?

(Isn't it easier to create more small-scale things than one large-scale novel? What do you think?)

Write them how you feel tehy should be written and see what happens.

If they aren't directly linked plot-wise, but are of the same genre, you could still put them together as an anthology like Clive Barker did with his "Books of Blood" series. If they are of different genres, you could start pidgeon-holing them together into seperate anthologies and perhaps add to them with additional stories.

Do what you had in mind! Only if it dosn't sound as if it's in the same universe, have them able to travel different universes! (or not, i dunno!) do whatcha wanna do!
