Best SF Series I've Read

Dalem

"Otherland" by Tad William
"Night's Dawn" by Peter F. Hamilton
"Dune" by Frank Herbert
"Manifold" by Stephen Baxter
"The Godhead Trilogy" by James Morrow
"Mars Trilogy" by Kim Stanley Robinson
"Paratwa Saga" by Christopher Hinz

I might be missing some, but I think that's a good start.

What are everyone else's favorite SF series (I prefer series over one-shot novels)?

Yikes, your list is close to mine! I would add the Miles Vorkosigan series by Bujold McMaster and LeGuin's Orsinian (?) stories including The Left Hand of Darkness. I also adored Xenogenesis by Octavia Butler and The Snow Queen series by Joan Vinge. I also think the Ender series by Card, Uplift by David Brin and Hyperion by Simmons deserve a recommendation.

I've been thinking of starting to read "Dune", but is it really that good?

The Dune series is one of the better series on my list, IMO.

It's a great continual read; I've read it 5-6 times and picked up new things each time. It's so in-depth and constantly blows my mind away.

I'd recommend picking up any of those books/series at your local used book store.
