In the last two weeks I have been receiving a lot of spam mail and today I received an ad for online porn. I don't know if this site has passed on my e-mail address or if some one else has, but either way, would you please erase me from your site.

As Hobbit says we do not in any way pass on Forum members email addresses, they are completely hidden in the system.

As for other parts of the sffworld website, there are instance where we post email addresses together with reviews and such. This is however only done when the person submitting a review explicitly tells us to show his/her email address with the submitted material.

Not really the original topic of this thread, but I didn't think it was worth starting a new one.

On my profile, i found the "hide email address" option. If you choose not to hide your address, then is it diplayed for all to see on the WWW, or does it just mean that other members can use the "click here to send mamb an email" button?

That's different though. The address in your interests column could well be different to the address emails get sent to when I click on the "click here to send fluffy bunny an email" button. Not suggesting that it is - just it could be.

What I want is for people to be able to contact me by email if they want to, but not for my address to be on display for spam trawlers to find. I have selected not to hide my address, and it is still not displayed. But I guess people can now send me emails right?
