Hi everybody. Here's my first post so hold on to yourselves (joke). Anyway, I'm soon gonna be through with Ender's Game and I've heard the sequels are pretty different. SO I was wondering about tips for other sci-fi books that touches about the same things (a strange world wieved upon with the eyes of a child). I really need something to read when the book is completed so please help me out here.
I've heard that Ender's Shadow is that kind of book, only Bean is the main character, is that so?

You have to read it. Trust me. It equals maybe even surpasses Ender's Game.

Yes! Read Ender's Shadow! The whole shadow quartet looks amazing, because it stays with the characters while they're young. I enjoyed the final three books in the Ender series, but they were very different from the first. The shadow books look as though they'll all be very similar to the first Ender book. And Bean kicks butt.

Indeed Bean is great. But what about Alai? Will he appear more in the books?

Read Ender's Shadow, and Shadow of the Hegemon. Both excellent.

Alai,
yes Emder's Shadow is a great book. But I'd advise you not to be That fixed on Ender's game. Ask for great science fiction in general and I promise you there are many great reading-experiences out there - even those books that are quite unlike EG... http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

I liked ENDER'S GAME and ENDER'S SHADOW very much. If you like young Protagonists try CHILD OF FORTUNE by Norman Spinrad. I think NEMESIS by Isaac Asimov also featured a very young heroine. Personally, I like stories about young people growing up and facing big issues.

Me too. I like it the most when it's a boy growing up. That way I can feel as the character do more corectly. Any books about boy heroes around? (Except for Ender's Game and Shadow)

I was going to recommend HARRY POTTER but that is fantasy I guess. THE JOURNEYS OF MCGILL FEIGHEN by, I think, Kevin O'Donnell, start when McGill is a baby and are very good. It's quite a long series. Robert Heinlein wrote a lot of stories about adolescent boys saving the world and coming of age and some of girls too. Apparently he considered both points of view valuable. Try THE ROLLING STONES and PODKAYNE OF MARS.
