I watched BladeRunner the other day for the first time and i was impressed. Throughout the movie I was thinkin about what a good book this would make so my quetion is is there any Sci-fi books based around the time and setting of a Bladerunner or if you were an X-man cartoon fan (::shrugs: http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif or into comics a world like the one Cable was living in... If you ever played Shadowrun the video game a world like that as well
Or what about a sci-fi book like Madmax or Fallout (the video game)...
I like those type of settings and worlds.. any recommendations will be appreciated..

Bladerunner was based on the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Phillip K Dick.
In regards to your xmen/superhero worlds/etc., you might enjoy the Wildcards series of novels by George R R Martin.

There are actually a whole series of Shadowrun books, of, er, variable quality.
Also check out Neuromancer for the first (and still best) cyberpunk book.
Brin's Postman is the closest match I know of to the Fallout 'character travelling through a post-apocalyptic world'. It's also a good read.

I quite agree with Vitriol about both Gibson' Neuromancer and Brin's Postman.
Who knows, there might even be a Mad Max novelization floating about somewhere too.
There is also (I think Isaac Asimov's short story) A Pail of Air.
Larry Niven's A World Out of Time while not strictly post-apocalyptic, puts a different spin on someone finding himself in a far future which had a faintly Omega Man feel to a lot of it to me.
Speaking of which, Richard Matheson's I am Legend is the novel upon which both The Omega Man (starring Charlton Heston), and The Last Man on Earth (starring Vincent Price) were both based.

I recently read The Parable of the Sower and The Parable of the Talents by Octavia Butler. While neither are post-apocolyptic tales, they take place in a grim future, an over-populated and blighted earth. In some ways, these stories are very mad max like. Butler holds nothing back and some scenes are highly disturbing. Yet, she takes the time to explore each character and their environment. People seem to either love or hate Butler's writings. Obviously, I like her. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif
