For those of you who haven't read some of his novels here you go (since they're public domain, and plenty of people have stuck them on the net):
The Invisible Man (http://www.paradoxcafe.com/relax/)
The Time Machine (http://www.colemanzone.com/Time_Machine_Project/text.htm)
The War of the Worlds (http://www.survivingtheapocalypse.com/theoutfitters/ebooks/war_of_the_worlds/)

Egads, this is total propaganda, but I can't help myself. :o
I have talked about my dad alot on this board, and as some of you know, he is way into h.g. wells. If you like Wells, you might like his books:
The Open Conspiracy -- H.G. Wells on World Revolution

Journalism and Prophesy, 1893 -1946; an anthology

H.G. Wells and the World State

This last fall he wrote a short(ish) biography of Wells. It is at the publishers now (University of Chicago) and we are hoping it will be published.
I will be the first to say that my dad's writing is a bit dry and very intellectual. Yet, his understanding is as complete as can be. He has grown up on Wells and has studied his life for 50+ years. He is considered one of the world experts on H.G. Wells.
I am in deep gratitude to my dad for introducing me to science fiction and the Wellsian vision of the present and the future.
Sorry for the shameless promotion...I am a proud daughter! :)

Speaking of those novels... they're all pretty short, and if you prefer paper you can get them in a paperback 3-in-1 from the Quality Paperback Club (qpb.com). You have to join, but it's a pretty good club, and they let you reply to the main selections online so there's no stamp wastage.
