I own two novels by the above authors, Cordellia's Honor by Bujold, and Falkenberg's Legion by Pournelle.
Anyone read these? Any thought on them?
Thanks.

Both, Keyoke.
Falkenberg's Legion is high on strategy and campaigning with some rather stereotypical characterisation and some right - wing views - erm, 'might is right', 'who watches the watchers' etc - but at the time I read it, I enjoyed it Falkenberg is your typical military genius burdened with responsibility - a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do, etc. etc.
Cordelia's Honor is the other extreme - emphasis on characterisation, with a plot that is entertaining and funny. There are plans and deceptions here too, but it is less 'shooting up' here and fewer battle plans - more 'warm and fuzzy' than Pournelle's stiffer soldier-types.
The two books are sort of like the differences between 'hard' Sf and 'soft' SF -both good in their own way, but clearly different styles.
Enjoyed both but Bujold gets better, and out of the two (depending on the mood!) gets my vote.

Cordelia's Honor is the first book in the Miles Vorkosigan series and is actually a compilation of two books - Shards of Honor and Barrayar. Bujold is a master of Space Opera. You get the scifi elements with a lot of good characterization and world building. I highly recommend Bujold and the Miles series. The latest in the series, Diplomatic Immunity, was just released in hardcover. I finished it this past week-end and it was fabulous.

both of them are enjoyable in their own way as pointed out before Pournelle does have a more militaristic view and Bujold a more human/humorous outlook ive have enjoy most of their work though
