I don't know how many of us are out here (Milamber_Reborn aren't you a fan?), but I thought we needed a little space to chat about the most important team in football (soccer, to the heathens). Feel free to chat about anything, just keep it decent (mainly for the Arsenal fans that will be bitter when they loose the Premiership).

Well I'll start it off............................................... .......................

Who would you like to see out and in?

IMHO Bartez should go. When he is playing well, he's great, but there are just too many times when he isn't. His erratic behaviour has scuppered our team too many times and we have lost vital points directly because of him. The only problem is, is that I don't think that there is anyone to replace him. Toldo and Buffon won't come, and Robinson is not experienced enough (will be good enough for Prem, but as the defensive frailties of Brown and Silvestre in the Champions League have shown you need that extra experience and skill). Maybe I'd take Antti Niemi, but again, a lack of experience.

If we are to do well in the Champions league we also need a defender that plays the european style. Blanc was good, but just too old and slow. Too many times we have seen our young defenders racing forward and being caught out. Also they don't close down anywhere near as well as they should, which is a must when you play against players such as Zidane and Figo. If you give them time and space they punish you.

A striker is also needed, someone to play off Ruud. With just the two strikers we have it gets a little stale, and it's sometimes best to change the system to get the result. Maybe someone like Beattie, who would be a good target man. Ruud does get the headers in, but prefers to shoot, so why not strech the defenses, by having the combination of two different types of strikers.

To pay for this I think we need to sell Bartez (please) and also Veron (nothing personell, he's played well in Europe, but that is only a small percentage of our games). Possibly even Gary Neville or Silvetre (preferably), O'Shea would take on either position.

What do you think?

I'm not a Man U fan, in fact I don't really support any one team in particular. I am a mostly neutral, but why don't they ever fork out cash for a decent striker?

Ruud is a fantastic goalscorer, there's no doubt about that, by why not sign a big name like Ronaldo, Shevchenko, Rivaldo, Raul, Vieri etc?
Especially considering the coughed up 30 mil for Rio Ferdinand? What a rip!
Also a good midfielder battler wouldn't go amiss. I'm thinking of someone in the Davids, Viera, Petit mold.
As for Barthez, I never liked the guy, he's too irratic, bit of a Bruce Grobelaar. (anyone remember him?)
Fergie never signs superstar players.
Why not! Man U are damn boring!

Tell me you didn't just say you rate Petit :D

If you want a good mid, look no further than Harry Kewell (and it's not just because he's from Oz either:D ). I don't think he'll be sticking around at Leeds at the end of the season, not when his stock is so high and he's shown he has all the skills.

I'm a big United fan indeed.

Barthez - On his way cause his gf still wants to go back to France. As my Dad says, never buy a short keeper cause they can't handle crosses, ala Barthez. We're apparently lining up a bid for Paul Robinson, good keeper but too short. Friedel is the man to get, or Rustu.

Midfielder - Beckham may or may not go, hope he stays or we'll have to buy two midfielders to add to the squad. Kewell might be on his way for only 6 million or a free transfer. He's exactly what we need, some creativity in the midfield. Keane will need an eventual replacement. Murphy would be good, but he'd never join the enemy.

Forward - Nihat from Real Sociedad is having a cracker of a season and Fergie wants him. He can bang in the goals allowing Van the Man to hold the ball up which he's getting good at.

Deadwood - Blanc, May and Chadwick are going, add Fortune to the list. Step Nardiello the young ace reserve striker up to the first team.

Defender - A young player like Mexes. Can't buy a big name, there's no room. Our defence has been the best this season since Bruce-Pallister so many years ago. Van Buytan from Marseille has been linked to us, a tall solid guy who scores goals, but he'd expect a first team place.

I'm not a fan of anyone in particular either but I do sort of follow the football...

Ayway, Kahn said ManU are boring cos they don't sign superstars. I think that was a the real reason until recently. But Now I don't think its so much about being boring. Fergie actually splashed out £28 million for Veron and look what a flop he's been. He's had his fingers burned with an expensive big name and so he's going back to his original instincts.

Van Nistelrooy is one of, if not the best strikers in the world, and how many people had heard of him before he was targetted by ManU? And Solkjaer? He cost what amounts to coins chucked by hooligan fans and him now. Its purchases like that (and of course the unrivalled level of young players coming through) which have brought the side where they are now.

Oh yes, and Barthez is a really dodgy keeper, made worse by inexperienced and in many cases incompetent defending.

Latest trasnfer rumours:

Michael Dawson (Highly rated England U-21 defender)
Damien Duff - 14 million pounds
Ronaldinho - 5 million pounds
Pavel Nedved - 26 million pounds
Dennis Rommedahl - 5 million pounds (Winger/Forward playing for PSV in Holland. One of the fastest players around)
Patrick Kluivert - 6 million pounds

At the moment many players are comnig out of contract and they have minimum release clauses of 5-6 million. United should be able to buy some good players for dirt cheap.

£6 million for Kluivert! Go for it now - that could be the best deal since Eric Cantona. And he'd be the perfect partner for Ruud...

MUFC 2 - 0 Tottenham after Arsenal blundered.

A hefty win at Charlton will mean we only need a draw at Everton to win on goal difference. I really don't want us to have to beat Everton at Goodison.
