[Shadowen]

Has anyone read the book Cities? Four novellas's by Mieville, Moorcock, Geoff Ryman and Paul di Fillippo. The blurb says..

Haven't seen it in the shops here (Ireland) or in Amazon but my book club is offering it for 9.99. Doesn't say which Mieville novella it is but possible Tain? Or something completely new? Anyone fill me in?

Yes this is what normally happens with the PS (Peter Crowther)Publishing publications that are limited editions, except that they are published by Gollancz. I can think of three others so far, 2 SF, 1 Fantasy (called Futures, Infinities and Cities if I remember right).

It will probably be combined with three others from the Fantasy PS publications, though some of the more recent publications have been novellas from the same author (Eilizabeth Hand's for example). I understand that as well as the next book in the Malazan series, Steven is hard at work on the sequel to Blood Follows, called The Healthy Dead (but no publication date yet!).

That's odd...I was under the impression that CITIES would include THE TAIN, but that novella certainly isn't set in New Crobuzon, so the blurb doesn't make a lot of sense....

Ok, so I checked and it does include The Tain.

The De Filippo and Ryman novellas are also quite good. I haven't read the Moorcock.
