So everyone - what are your hangover cures?

Mine used to be a big, greasy, feed of whatever fast food was handy.

Now I try and drink at least a litre of water before I go to bed and 2 when I get up. Bread rolls with cheese and vegemite do th trick for breakfast.

Nothing exciting.

I try to eat a healthy portion of food and drink a fair amount of water before I go to bed, and I try to eat and drink healthily as soon as I wake up in the morning.

Still can't play soccer the morning after, but can function as a human being.

Greetings

For people with a poor constitution....

a pot of green Jasmine tea to settle the stomach and rehydrate the body, followed by some scrambled eggs on toast which are very easy on the stomach and may be the only think you can keep down.

For those with a stronger constitution who don't get sick but still get the headaches...

Plenty of tea or coffee and a big fried breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, possibly chips or beans and a fried slice.

For those with a phenonenal constitution....

A pint of "Black and Cold" and a double vodka chaser (neat oe with ice)

My method:-

1- A few hours before drinking try and track down the new 'Lifesavers' tablets on sale in some places. These are designed to ease tomorrow's hangover. Taken alone, they're pretty pathetic, but at least they're a step in the right direction.

2- Don't mix grapes and grain when you drink.

3- A few hours in, begin drinking water alongside whatever your poison is. Not too much, but start the intake.

4- When you're finishing up, take some paracetemol and drink more water (we're talking pints here).

5- Eat something with a good base, like a chunk of bread, and then hit the sack.

6- When you wake up, more paracetemol (even though you shouldn't have a headache by now) and then begin rehydrating yourself with pints of water mixed with Rappolyte which is available from your local chemists. Then a tepid shower and towelling with a coarse towel to get the blood flowing and stimulate the lymphatic system. Consider some stretching if you know how.

7- Your body is already working hard to get back in the pink, so don't add to it's workload by consuming stuff that is difficult to break down and digest. It's counter-intuitive, but it's better to stay away from greasy spoons and currys. Try smoothies, salads and fruit.

8- Consider a screwdriver at lunch if you are still deathly.

9- Go home, call your friends, arrange to meet at a bar later, and then go back to step 1.

Kids !!! have some and you will not drink nearly as much as you used too , most of the time :D

Water works wonders , as Dr Karl says " drink one schooner , piss out three " ;)

My favorite, if I have time to take a long nap after, is the full "Irish breakfast" at a local pub--eggs, potatoes, ham, bacon, sausage, toast, black sausage, and a 1/2 pint of Guinness.

Otherwise, it's lots and lots of water and a can of stewed tomatoes.

I drink down so much water when I get home that I feel it bloating your stomach. I then keep several bottles by my bedside and gulp some down every time my sleep is interrupted (I tend to get patchy sleep if I drink a lot - and have to get up to urinate at some stage as well that certainly does NOT help the next morning:( ). Also eat some salty stuff, like peanuts or crisps to restore my osmotic balance.

If it's a really heavy night, then try vomiting before you go to bed.:D :D Yes, it's unpleasant, but at least you're still drunk, so you won't suffer as much at the time. And you feel hell of a lot better the next day...:D
