I've read a few of the older ones, like Nathaniel and Hellfire that were okay. I tried reading a couple of the newer ones and couldn't get into them. It's my sister's favorite author. The Unloved was probably the best of the ones I read. I read them about 15 years ago, though, so I don't remember much. I did read the Blackstone Chronicles, too. It was okay.

Nathaniel is the only book I've read many years ago and I was just wondering if I should read another one.

I read about 4 or 5 of them, 5 years ago. They were good for what they were, but after the 4th or 5th I started to realize that they were all very much the same...
They were still pretty cool, however, but I never read any more of his work. I figured there's enough King out there to last me years, and even Koontz which is probably better than Saul.

I read When the wind blows a few years back and I liked it, I haven't read any other of his books though.
Do you think I should??? And if so, which ones???

Koontz is a good writer and his books are usually very entertaining, but over the last few years he seems to have developed Stephen Kingitus - in other words his books are about 33% longer than they need to be. If I were you I'd go with his books from the 80's to early 90's. After about 1997 the Stephen Kingitus creeps in.

Koontz used to be my favorite writer (Read Lightning, The Bad Place, The Servants of Twilight) but he hasn't written a good book in years.
I read a couple John Saul books, but I can't remember their names. I guess that tells you what I thought of them.

Saul's after a while pretty much become all the same.
Second Child was OK, and I've just picked up a copy of Darkness but can't get into it.
As for Koontz yay! Watchers is a must. About an intelligent dog. Must read. Read again. Lightning too and Midnight also fall into that catagory.
