Well, Dennizm, seems like the England Cricket team is taking quite a hammering. Let me join the Aussies on this board in commiserating with you on the truly HORRIBLE condition of your team. Keep a stiff upper lip, and perhaps you might be able to avoid a TOTAL ashes disaster. Cheers, mate!

Britania may rule the waves but they're certainly not making much of a mark on the cricket pitch are they? (Well, not one that you'd like to have advertised to the whole world anyway).
Never mind, things can only improve from here - you hope. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif

Er... guys, I am sorry to break this to you... but I loath and detest cricket, and football, and rugby... boring!!! As far as I am concerned you can keep the Ashes.

I am an out and out F1 fan, a sport with many nationalities taking part... hmmm... no Aussies in there though <snigger> http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

Dare I say... sour grapes?

And come to think of it, I don't see too many Poms doing well in F1 either. On the other hand, the only time you'll see a Pakistani drive a car that fast is when he's a New York Taxi driver http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif

Go Schumi!!!!!

Not many pommes doing well in F1, the guy in second place is a Brit!! Even though I am not a Shumie fan, I have to concede that he is the best driver out there, and I would like to see him beat or equal Fangio's record of 5 world championships, just b/c I would like to see this happen. Okay, it would be even better if a Brit could do it, but Schumacher is the only driver with a realistic chance of doing this.

And lets not forget, Oz gave us the great Alan Jones, so I tip my hat to you there.

No sour grapes http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif I really do not like cricket

Embrace them when you want to, eh, Dennizm... DC is SCOTTISH, not ENGLISH. For further details, have a look at his helmet. I'm sure he'd rather be identified as Scots. After all, they have their own parliament now http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

And if I'm not mistaken, the term "POMMIE" was reserved for the English. I've never heard of a Scotsman being called a pommie, have you?

Embrace them when I want?!? My MOTHER is Scotish... do not make assumptions about me... I also never said David Couthard was English... I said he was British.... I never say I am from England... I say I am from the UK. David Coulthard is a FELLOW country man as far as I am concerned, just like any welsh, or northern irish people.

The term pomme applies to Brits... we the britsh coined the tern for prisoners sent to the colony Prisoner Of the Mother Empire... and it was then turned back on us (and quite rightly to) to mean prisoners of mother england, by you Aussies...

...why are you trying to get me angry, have I offended you somehow? http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/frown.gif
