Daphne knew changes were coming to the face of the earth. Already the world in which they lived had begun to shift on its axis, providing shorter days and earlier sunsets. Glorious and majestic sunsets. The air was cooling, the skies became more crystal blue, and for those dragons able to stay awake throughout the night, were rewarded with the most phenomenal site.
A dragon only had to look overhead to see: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap030825.html
Yes, Autumn was upon the Earth, and it is Daphne's favorite part of the year. From her mountain side perch, she could look across the valley and see the awesome colorations covering the land. So she decided a little house rearranging was called for. She put away all her silk scarves and brought out all those curly little sheep's rugs. She had worked hard to salvage the woolly carpets at the end of Ogg's chaos war of summer.
Once her housekeeping had been completed, she lapsed into silence again. There wasn't much that could be done until a visitor of some importance arrived. But alas, she had seen him only once and really didn't expect him back. But a female in love, hope never fades.
