Question about the Riftwar Saga

I'm reading Faerie Tale for the book club right now, and am about halfway through it. I really like Feist's writing style, so I was thinking about getting into the Riftwar Saga that I hear so much about. I was wondering where this saga begin.

The Riftwar series started with Magician and IMO it is well worth reading . Be warned , if you like Feist's Magician there are another 15 books you'll probably want to read :D

Just a note, since you live in the States, if you buy Magician in paperback it is broken up into 2 volumes.

Magician: Apprentice
Magician: Master

Don't be worried about that "15 more books" comment. Magician can stand on its own, and if you want more, the Riftwar saga continues with "Silverthorn" and "A Darkness at Sethanon". He wrote many (too many?) follow-ups to these as well, but that's the main trilogy, and you can read it on it's own if you don't want to read his whole collected works!

I started with the Krondor series! So you don't have to read all of them - Magacian is excellent on its own though I have introduced two other people to it and they bug me for whatever copies of his books I have :)

A good follow-up to the Riftwar is the Empire trilogy.

The Serpent war saga and the Empire trilogy are worth reading
