Arty... you being a person of exceptionally good taste http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif, will love TC.

Bookfreak13... I have to say I was very surprised at the amount of Doherty books out there, he is a recent 'discovery' of mine. The only 2 I have read is The Treason of the Ghost and Corpse Candle, and both were very good. I don't know if you have a problem ordering on-line, but Amazon.co.uk have a lot of his books.

P.C. Doherty has also written a lot under other names. I did also read some of his "Canterbury Tales" series, a story each about a character from one of the Pilgrims. The two I read were good, and I am waiting to see if he will write more

I have Doherty's other names somewhere on a list but Ive been told they are only available in the UK right now. Im having alot of trouble locating ANYTHING by him...I will probably end up ordering from amazon.

Well dennizm, Im on page 8. I had a crisis and wasnt able to start it until today. I will admit to you that I have absolutely positively NO IDEA what these books are about. I cant wait to read more.

So... how is it going Arty? Are you hooked yet? http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

I have just been to Candace Robb's website, and have made a note of her books... I think I shall be trying the Owen Archer books in the not too distant future... http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif, my VISA card is taking a hammering buying all these 'murders'. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

well, I'll have to admit....I am having trouble with Thomas. I put it back and read Assassin's Quest. I'm going to check it back out on Thurseday.
I really enjoyed Owen Archer!!! I can't wait until you can start them!
I read a book called Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of Death. I HAD to...the title was so great! It's what they call a "cozy" in the mystery trade. Turns out to be written by the lady who wrote the Hamish McBeath books.
and BTW, now it all makes sense about Amber and the Fool. Can't wait for Fool's Errand.

Arty... I can understand your problem with Covenant, on the surface, he is a total jerk and very hard to like, and this makes it hard to get into the first book, added to this is the fact the book takes a long time to 'get going'. The following books are better with more action.

As regards Covenant, you need to remember and understand what has happened to him before the story begin to understand his actions.

Actually, its more of a problem with it beginning in the "real" world than anything else. I will pick it back up again, I have a problem with not finishing any book I've started, it begins to bother me!

Arty... Take it from me, Covenant is one of the best, if not the best 'crossover' books out there. I don't like these kind of books in general, I always hate the way the person never suffers any culture shock, or doubts their own sanity when the wake up in a new world, they just take it in their stride. Covenant does not, and behaves in a realistic way.

*DennizM doffs his hat, and bends a graceful knee to the fair Arty*

Thankyou for your Candace Robb recommedation, I have just read The Apothecary Rose, and this book was deffinitely different from the norm... but it was brilliant. By different I mean that we knew how the deaths occured, we see how Archer solved the crime, and arrived at conclusions we already knew about... very intresting.

I owe you one http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif
