Easy Cats :D

I was wondering if anyone could help me.
I've been buying up all of Robert Salvatore's books (enjoyed the Trail By Fire comics that came out from CrossGen) recently and I was wondering in what order they should be read in?

I. The Crystal Shard
II. Streams of Silver
III. The Halfling's Gem
IV. The Icewind Dale Trilogy(H)

The Dark Elf Trilogy
-Forgotten Realms-
I. Homeland
II. Exile
III. Sojourn
IV. The Dark Elf Compilation(H)

Drizzt & Friends
-Forgotten Realms-
I. The Legacy
II. Starless Night
III. Siege of Darkness
IV. Passage to Dawn(H)
V. Legacy of the Drow(H)

Paths of Darkness
-Forgotten Realms-
I. The Silent Blade(H)
II. The Spine of the World(H)
III. Servant of the Shard(H)
IV. Sea of Swords(H)

The Cleric Quintet
-Forgotten Realms-
I. Canticle
II. In Sylvan Shadows
III. Night Masks
IV. The Fallen Fortress
V. The Choas Curse
VI. The Cleric Quintet Compilation(H)

The Hunter's Blades
-Forgotten Realms-
I. The Thousand Orcs(H)
II. The Lone Drow(H)

War of the Spider Queen
-Forgotten Realms-
I. Dissolution(H)
II. Insurrection(H)
III. Condemnation(H)

The Demon Wars Series
-Del Rey-
I. The Demon Awakens(H)
II. The Demon Spirit(H)
III. The Demon Apostle(H)
IV. Mortalis(H)

The Demon Wars Series 2
-Del Rey-
I. Ascendance(H)
II. Transcendance(H)
III. Immortalis(H)

The Crimson Shadow
I. The Sword of Bedwyr
II. Luthien's Gamble
III. The Dragon King(H)

Ynis Aielle
-Del Rey-
I. Echoes of the Fourth Magic
II. The Witches Daughter
III. Bastion of Darkness

Spearwielders Tale
I. The Woods Outback
II. The Dragon's Dagger
III. Dragonslayer's Return

It's just I don't want to read one group and spoil another. So does anyone have any ideas?

Well, if you are fan of Trial of Fire, you are looking to the "Demon Wars Saga". The First Demon Wars saga , then "Mortalis", then the second "Demon Wars" saga. IWD and Dark Elf are Forgooten Realms novels, Crimson Shadow is an epic trilogy, but not as good as IWD or the "Demon Wars".

Oh, OK thanks

What about the Forgotten Realms books. Would you say there is a certain order they should be read in so the story isn't spoiled?

The Drizzt books go in this order:
Dark Elf trilogy
Icewind Dale trilogy
'Drizzt & Friends'
'Paths of Darkness'
Hunter's Blade

'War of the Spider Queen' was not written by Salvatore.

And 'The Cleric Quintet' itself is not connected to Drizzt, also those characters play a role in later Drizzt novels. Don't ask me in which exactly . . .

Nimea, 'War of the Spider Queen' was written by Salvatore. I have the first book and his name is on the front of it.
Has this series got any ramifications on Drizzt at all?

Trauma, glad you could join us :)

The War of the Spider Queen series was PLOTTED by Salvatore, but all three books were written by different authors. The full name of the series is R.A. SALVATORE'S WAR OF THE SPIDER QUEEN.

Oh, and for the Forgotten Realms reading order, there's always an argument between what to read first: Dark Elf trilogy or Icewind Dale trilogy. Some people like to read them in chronoligical order, which would put Dark Elf first. Others, like myself, like to read them in the order they were published, which would put Icewind Dale first. It's pretty much up to you, you'll be fine either way. Just make sure you read the others in the order they were published. I still say the Cleric Quintet should be read before the Paths of Darkness books.

Easy Warewolf :D

Yep, finally made it here (got lost, road signs are a bitch :p ) and you were right, some helpful cats up here.

Damn, I didn't even see that, might as well read this series though, now I have the first book

So the reading order should be something like this;

Dark Elf trilogy
Icewind Dale trilogy
Drizzt & Friends'
Cleric Quintet
Paths of Darkness'
Hunter's Blade

I think you'd be in good shape with that...

Actually, the Icewind Dale Trilogy came out first. But the Dark Elf books take place earlier in time.

I always read books in the order that they are published.

This is the better way. Many "prequels" will ruin with spoilers the "next' books in the series, if you read'em before the original novels (f.ex. - If you read "The First King of Shannara" before the original "shannara trilogy" and the "Heritage", you'll know almost everything about the magic items in the books).
BTW, currently I'm reading "Ascendance" and it ROCKS!
