What is the all time best Movie Soundtrack ?

IMO it has to be LOTR !
Not only are we blessed with a Brilliant line up of characters, a beautiful setting, wonderful directors and producers, but Howard Shaw comes up with a simply perfect score of music!!

It lends such a great atmosphere to the film its unreal, the music to acompany the Hobbits is pure genius as is;

Enya's Singing
Boromirs death
Helms Deep

The music for these parts is so beautiful and it just makes the scenes so stark and vivid.

So what would you say is the Best Movie Soundtrack ?

I can't pick just one, but I'll name some favorites:

The Road to Perdition
Last of the Mohicans
Fellowship of the Rings
The Piano
Escaflowne (TV Series)
Anything from Nobuo Uematsu (responsible for Final Fantasy)

hmm...there are lots more, but those are the ones I;ve been listening to this year.

That's one of the one's I forgot, Robin Hood! Love the opening theme, the company that made the movie did to, I believe they use it at the beginning of a movie with their logo.

Han Solo

I've just listened to both LOTR movie soundtracks here at work. They are greatness but my all time favorite are The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. They're too many for me as well

Love just about any from
John Williams (Star Wars, Superman, Jurassic Park)
James Horner (Star Trek 2 & 3, Titanic, Braveheart, Apollo 13)
Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek:TMP, Planet of the Apes, ST:First Contact, Rambo)

Love the soundtrack to Pirates of the Carribean.

Boy I'll have to come back and edit this one.

There are very few films that, after first viewing, I say "wow, what a soundtrack". Those are Gladiator, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Star Wars (even the new ones).
