Why are there so many Australians?

Here we go, as threatened in the 'Where' thread. Let's really find out how many Aussies are members of this board, why we love sf/f, and any deep and complex sociological reasons for the phenomenon. Or we could all just write posts saying how good we are, and tease the Kiwis mercilessly...

That little thing I said about being a kiwi that was just a joke... heheh heh? (Damn, I think it's too late.)

Oh, why not add to the topic if there are so many SF fans here, why do SF magazines struggle to stay afloat?

My thoughts exactly, thank you.

Jokes about sheep, are cheap cheap cheap!
Don't make me come after you and pound you with my little cloven hooves!

(Does residency status count?)

I don't wanna be left out - I'm Aussie too - from way up north in Cairns.

Maybe there's so many of us because we've got such a tough life style, we have plenty of time to sit around, watch computer screens and read books all day long. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif I wish!!!

Wish I lived in Cairns! I've always wanted to go there - is it as beautiful as they say?
