Sarah Douglass

Hello! This is my first post, although I've been lurking in here for quite some time.

This may already be posted somewhere else, but I've not yet located it. I have just read 2 trilogies by Sarah Douglass (Axis and Wayfarer Redemption) and thought they were quite good, but I haven't seen any other postings concerning these books. I liked them so much that I thought they would have been posted in at least one of the Favorites lists. Only the Axis trilogy is available here in the States right now, but I thought that some of you Aussies would have read the other, considering Douglass lives, worksm and publishes first there. (BTW, for those of your in the States, the Wayfarer Redemption is NOT the first book of the Axis trilogy, but the name of the 2nd trilogy. This was a mistake made by Tor).

I am really interested to know what those of you who have read these books thought about them. Thanks.

Thought her books were okay at best, but didn't think much of the story or teh characters. Here's a link.

I read the first three books of the Wayfarer/Axis set and thought it was a whole lot of talk about...eh. Not too too bad, they kept my interest.

However, nothing prepared me for the dead trees that made up Hades' Daughter possibly the worst book I've tried to read in the past couple of years. Utter tripe, terrible terrible attempt at a novel.

Here's some old threads that talk about her, StarSon....

So I was at the bookstore and the Sara Douglass books really confuse me... (http://www.sffworld.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=214&highlight=sara+douglass)

No - she's not discussed that often on here apparently. But if you do a search (and make sure you spell the name right ;), or perhaps using 'Douglas', as she is often mistakenly called), you'll find her listed on a few 'favourite' lists....including mine. :D

You can also have a look in this Sara Douglass (http://waylander.proboards11.com/index.cgi?board=fabook&action=display&num=1034918278) thread over at SciFantasy.com, for some more opinions.

As I'm such a fan, she tends to make fairly regular appearances in the Fantasy Books (http://waylander.proboards11.com/index.cgi?board=fabook) section over there, and I have a habit of pestering people to tell me what they think. :D
