Hello Everyone! Been lurking, and here is my first post! I have posted this to all my favorite boards, to get a list of movies to watch on Friday!

Just for fun, in the spirit of the holiday, lets all list our top 5 horror movies EVAR! Use the loosest possible definition of horror. We don't need to have a stick up our asses about it.

1. The Resurrected (Best Lovecraft Adaptation EVAR)
2. Prince of Darkness (1987, Donald Pleasance)
3. Nightmare on Elmstreet (the first and baddest!)
4. Brain Damage (Henenlotter, 1988, from the man that gave us Basket Case
5. The Ring

These are in no particular order, just the top 5 in my book

1. Evil Dead 2
2. Dead Alive
3. Evil Dead 1
4. May
5. Jacob's Ladder

This isn't necessarily a definitive list (my lists change all the time), but this'll do for now.

There's a lot of these around at the moment. The UK TV station Channel 4 recently had a vote from the UK on the 100 Scariest moments.

Their top 5 were:

5. Blair Witch Project
4. Alien (1)
3. Jaws
2. The Exorcist
1. The Shining

Don't entirely agree with that one myself, but thought you might like to compare!

and just to show you where some of the other choices above were,

The original Ring was 6th, Halloween was 7th, the original Texas
Chainsaw 8th, The Omen 9th, Nightmare on Elm Street 10th.

I really wouldn't be able to give you a list of the top 5 Horror movies I've ever seen. mostly because I am such a scaredy cat & always end up with my hands in front of my face or a blanket pulled over my head, screaming my head off - seriously, even Candyman scared the bejesus out of me. And IT had me screaming like a banshee, while jumping up and down on the couch (also earned me one of the biggest hidings of my life). Texas Chainsaw Massacre made me want to pee in my pants. Nightmare on Elm Street had me totally freaked out & sleeping with a flashlight under the duvet and the bunch of vampire flicks have given birth to a completely irrational fear of lesbian vampires
