Has anyone read one of Wladimir Nabokov's works? There are a great many, amongst the more famous are "Laughter in the dark", "Lolita" and "pale fire".
I'm thinking of buying one of them.

Lolita is considered by many to be one of the greatest novels ever written.
Ada is also very good; expands on many of the themes of Lolita, and it's an alternate-world type science fiction story.

The only Nabokov I've read is Lolita, and it was wonderful. Nothing like what I expected. It's a love story, and funny.
Don't know why I haven't read his other stuff. Glad you brought this up. Maybe it's time to check out his other books.

Ah, Lolita. Definately read it. I read it thanks to a mild obsession with Dominique Swain. "The movie, the movie, the movie, oh! I should read the book!" I thoroughly enjoyed it, in both forms. (Although I didn't like the original movie.)
